INTENDED USE: Sterility assurance is a critical cornerstone of effective patient care. Therefore, the medical device wrapping is a very important step of the sterilization process. Suitable wrapping techniques and proper wrapping material use provide a sterile barrier during and after the sterilization process. 4A Crepe paper is used to wrap materials to be sterilized like trays, surgical kits. Crepe paper is preferred instead of fabric due to the smaller pore structures.

OPERATION CONDITIONS: 4A Crepe papers are used for steam, ethylene oxide, formaldehyde and gamma irradiation sterilization methods. The sterilization conditions should be determined by the end user regarding the material to be sterilized.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: It must be boxed with polyethylene bags in as much as it shall not be damaged by external factors during storage and shipment. It must be kept away from toxic substances. The date of manufacturing and expiry date are stated on the outer packing. Shelf life is 5 years after the production date.

Biological indicators are test systems containing viable microorganisms providing a defined resistance to a specific sterilization process. A biological indicator provides information on whether necessary conditions were met to kill a specified number of microorganisms for a given sterilization process, providing a level of confidence in the process. Steam Biological Indicator (3h and 24h) is specifically designed for the monitoring steam sterilization processes at 121 – 134 °C. The final readout of a processed biological indicator with respect to the indicator type should be made after 3 hours (4ARSBI) or 24h (4ASBI) of incubation at 60+/- 2 °C.

PCD- Helix Load Control Test has a self adhesive indicator on the far end. The PCD test kit has a 1 m long hose, and the Helix test kit has a 1.5 m long hose. There are 100 indicators in each package. 4A Medical Incubator is designed to incubate 4ASBI (24 hours) steam biological indicators for steam sterilization process, 4AEOBI Ethylene Oxide biological indicators for EO sterilization process and 4APBI plasma biological indicators for Hydrogen Peroxide sterilization process. Incubation temperatures vary depending on the indicator, because the microorganisms included within the Biological Indicators differentiate based on the sterilizing method for which they were created. Three incubation programs are available: MOD 1 – 48 hours at 370C for EO biological indicators, MOD 2 – 24 hours at 570C for steam biological indicators and MOD 3 – 24 hours at 600C for plasma biological indicators. The incubator makes it simple to identify positive and negative results for Biological Indicators. If the sterilization success is negative, the color of the culture media turns yellow. The color change should be interpreted that the sterilization was not successful.
